Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin
Diverse users, from plants to people, depend on the Potomac River, its tributaries, and associated land and groundwater resources. Sustainable management of the water resources across the multi-jurisdictional basin requires bridging social, political, and environmental differences. This is best achieved through regional cooperation and encouragement of comprehensive planning.
Planning is a necessary component of proactive sustainable water resources management. ICPRB participates in water resources planning efforts at the national, basin-wide, state, and local/regional levels. Learn more about ICPRB’s planning efforts.
ICPRB conducts hydrologic and hydrogeologic analyses to enhance understanding of the basin’s water resources. Staff have diverse expertise that includes hydrologic modeling, geospatial analysis, and statistical analysis to conduct thorough surface and groundwater investigations.
