Earth Day Marsh Madness
April 21 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
To Our Community,
The Potomac Riverkeeper Network, in collaboration with Alexandria Community Rowing and The National Park Service, needs your help this Earth Day. Please join us in cleaning up the “marsh madness” at Jones Point Park! All are welcome to participate! We hope that our fellow Potomac River users, groups, and lovers will make an effort to join us. Come out to meet your neighbors and support the health of our Potomac River. Spread the word and sign up to get your free RSVP ticket! (Per the NPS, we’re limited to recruiting 75 volunteers. Sign up before the slots get swept up!)
Sunday, April 21st. 10 am to 2 pm
Meet representatives at the Jones Point Lighthouse to check-in and to collect your supplies, starting at 10 am.
We will provide:
- Trash bags
- Grabbers
- Hand sanitizer
We recommend that you bring:
- Water (Re-useable bottles prefered. Please don’t add to the marsh madness!)
- Any additional supplies that you think would make you feel comfortable
We recommend that you wear:
- Wellies or closed-toed shoes
- Breathable layers that you are comfortable bending in, that you don’t mind getting wet or a little dirty
- Hat
- Sunglasses
You are welcome to volunteer anytime between 10 am to 2pm. Any time and effort makes a significant difference. Please make sure to sign your waiver form at check in.
