Trees 101

February 9 @ 10:30 am - 3:00 pm

Do you want to play a greater role in re-treeing D.C.? We need your help to protect and promote trees in our urban forest!

Trees 101 provides a foundation in tree anatomy, basic tree identification and an overview of how trees function to provide the benefits we enjoy in the urban forest. The class will also chronical the condition of DC’s urban forest, and how you can be part of Casey Trees’ mission to Restore, Enhance and Protect our nation’s capital trees.

Trees 101 is a great primer for other Casey Trees programs, such as:

    • Planting, pruning, mulching and watering trees in all 8 wards.
    • Monitoring the health of the urban forest through tree inventories.
    • Educating others on the importance of trees
    • Advocating for trees whenever and wherever possible.
