The 2008 Summer Ramble Planning is Underway!
Join us on June 20-23 for a weekend on the tidal Potomac! The tentative journey itinerary is from Ft. Washington to Mason Neck Wildlife Refuge. Along the way, we'll take time to birdwatch, tour historical sites, learn about submerged aquatic vegetation and tree identification, and much more. We'll paddle eight to ten miles per day at a leisurely pace so we can enjoy the sites. We will be posting the registration form soon so please check back with us!
The Potomac River Rambles are an excellent way for individuals and groups to gain perspective on the watershed and learn about ways to protect, conserve, and enhance the resources of the Potomac basin. Come immerse yourself in the nature and culture of the “Nation’s River!” For more information about the Rambles, contact Adam Griggs at (301) 984-1908 x 103.
Basic information: Included in your registration fee are meals, a daily gear shuttle, one car shuttle to get your car to the end point and you to the put-in location, daily programs, expert river guide service, camping fees, and a boat decal. Your gear will be shuttled each day to the next camping location so you will not have to bring it on the water. Meals will be provided and every effort to meet dietary requirements will be made, however, we may not be able to meet everyone's specific needs.
Outfitter information: We have not yet determined our outfitter for the 2008 summer Ramble.
