Dan's Mountain State Park

Located next to Dan's Mountain Wildlife Management Area, this 481 acre State Park offers a variety of activities including fishing, hiking, historic interest, picnic areas, playground, shelters, swimming pool, and naturalist programs.

The terrain in the area is rugged and includes wonderful views of the north Branch of the Potomac and the Potomac valley forests. The mountain is named for Daniel Cresap, one of the first settlers in the area and the namesake of nearby Cresaptown.

Wildlife in the park and nearby wildlife management area include bobcats, some coyotes, grouse, wild turkey and an increasing population of black bears.
