The National Park Service Chesapeake Bay Gateways website connects you with the Bay's special places through a system of parks, refuges, museums, historic communities, and water trails.

The US Geological Service Potomac River Streamflow allows access to provisional data, that is collected near the end of each month, on recent Potomac River streamflow and on diversions for water supply.

The American Canoe Association is dedicated to promoting canoeing, kayaking, and rafting as wholesome lifetime recreational activities. They accomplish this mission by providing a variety of worthwhile programs and public services in such areas as: event sponsorship, safety education, instructor certification, waterway conservation, paddler's rights and protection, and public information campaigns.

The C & O Canal Association works to protect, preserve and promote the assets of the C&O Canal Historic Park.

The Canoe Cruisers Association of Greater Washington, DC, founded in 1956, has over 1000 members from Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia and other nearby regions. We are a kayak and canoe club whose main purpose is to unite persons interested in paddling the Potomac River Basin and adjacent watersheds.

The Monocacy Canoe Club is a paddling organization that leads canoeing and kayaking trips as well as engaging in projects to conserve the river and maintain paddlers' access to them.

The Potomac River Paddlers Association is a resource for kayakers on the Potomac River. Their main areas of interest are Great Falls and Harper's Ferry.

The West Virginia Rivers Coalition seeks the conservation and restoration of West Virginia's rivers and streams through working with anglers and river enthusiasts
