them learn to write more competitive grants. It has detailed
information and tips on writing a grant proposal & completing
a grant application package.
The Environmental Protection Agency's Watershed Protection, Restoration, and Management Grant This announcement is soliciting proposals from eligible applicants to develop effective and comprehensive programs for watershed protection, restoration, and management.
The
Environmental Protection Agency's Catalog of Government Funding
Sources is a searchable database of financial assistance
sources (grants, loans, cost-sharing) available to fund a
variety of watershed protection projects.
The Environmental Protection Agency's Watershed Funding Website contains links to tools, databases, and resources about grants, funding and fundraising. The Web site is designed to help nonprofit watershed organizations, state and local governments, and funders (such as foundations) more easily find information on how to effectively obtain and invest resources to improve watershed health.
The
National Coastal Wetlands Conservation Grant Program funds
work to acquire, restore, and enhance wetlands of coastal
States and the Trust Territories.
The
US Department of Agriculture lists several sources of
funding for improving water quality within and outside the
federal government.
Maryland's
Department of Natural Resources Capital Grants & Loans
Administration centralizes program and contact information
for the various programs and funding sources available to
local governments and to property owners that help support
the Department's goals.
The
Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Growing
Greener webpage provides all the information needed to
apply for the various Growing Greener grants offered by PA
DEP.
The
Pennsylvania DCNR Grants Center provides a single point
of contact for communities and nonprofit conservation agencies
seeking state assistance in support of local conservation
initiatives. This assistance can take the form of grants,
technical assistance, information exchange and training.
Virginia's
Chesapeake Bay Local Assistance Grants provide funding
for projects aimed at reducing non-point source pollution.
Virgina
Environmental Endowment improves the quality of the environment
by using its capital to encourage all sectors to work together
to prevent pollution, conserve natural resources, and promote
environmental literacy.
Virginia's
Chesapeake Bay Restoration Fund uses the revenues from
the purchase of the Chesapeake Bay commemorative license plates
to award grants for Chesapeake Bay projects.
The
Virginia Outdoors Fund administers a grant-in-aid program
for the acquisition and development for public outdoor recreation
areas and facilities. Grants are for public bodies only.
The
American Greenways Awards, a partnership project of the
Eastman Kodak Company, The Conservation Fund, and the National
Geographic Society, provides small grants to stimulate the
planning and design of greenways in communities throughout
America.
Americorps
National Civilian Conservation Corps offers grants for
projects that protect and conserve natural resources, promote
public safety and help meet educational needs.
Canaan
Valley Institute provides assistance to watershed and
other volunteer groups. Assistance may be monetary or in the
form of training and technical expertise on topics such as
organizational skill development, problem identification,
problem-solving processes, water-quality assessment, conflict
resolution and GIS work.
The
Chesapeake Bay Trust works to provide grants for Maryland
nonprofit organizations, community associations, civic groups,
schools and public agencies to promote public awareness and
participation in the restoration and protection of the Chesapeake
Bay and its tributaries.
The
Fairfax County Water Authority offers small grants our
watershed improvements as well as outreach and education efforts
in Fairfax County, VA.
The
Home Depot Environmental Grants Program focuses on forestry
and ecology, green building design, clean-up and recycling
and lead poisoning prevention.
The
National Fish and Wildlife Foundation Chesapeake Bay Small
Watershed Grants Program provides grants to organizations
working on a local level to protect and improve watersheds
in the Chesapeake Bay basin, while building citizen-based
stewardship.
The
Pennsylvania League of Women Voters Water Resource Grants
funds community based, educational projects which address
the issues surrounding the protection and improvement of the
drinking water source waters for the community's public drinking
water system or the community's watershed
The
Pure Water 2000 Grant Program funds project in the Shenandoah
Basin that reduce the release of pollutants into the Shenandoah
River watershed and enable education projects that increase
awareness of pollution prevention.
The
River Network makes grants available to local watershed
partnerships to support their organizational development and
long-term effectiveness.
The
Sustainble Agriculture Research and Education Program
(SARE) SARE works to create agriculture in the Northeast that
is diversified and profitable, providing healthful products
to its customers; agriculture that is conducted by farmers
who manage resources wisely, who are satisfied with their
lifestyles, and have a positive influence on their communities
and the environment.
