US Department of Agriculture Conservation Reserve Program
(CRP) is a voluntary program for agricultural landowners.
Through CRP, you can receive annual rental payments and cost-share
assistance to establish long-term, resource conserving covers
on eligible farmland.
The
US Department of Agriculture Conservation Reserve Enhancement
Program (CREP) is a voluntary program for agricultural
landowners. Unique state and federal partnerships allow you
to receive incentive payments for installing specific conservation
practices. Through the CREP, farmers can receive annual rental
payments and cost-share assistance to establish long-term,
resource conserving covers on eligible land.
The
Maryland Department of Agriculture Office of Resource Conservation
oversees a range of programs, including the state's nutrient
management law, to help farmers balance farm productivity
with the need to protect our soil and water resources-- especially
the Chesapeake Bay.
The
Pennsylvania Bureau of Farmland Preservation oversees
the program to purchase agricultural easements and administers
legislative programs designed to preserve farmland through
the State Agricultural Preservation Board.
Virginia
Department of Agriculture promotes the economic growth
and development of Virginia agriculture, encourages environmental
stewardship and provides consumer protection.
The
Virginia Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Stewardship
Program works with farmers and local Soil and Water Conservation
Districts to resolve water quality problems concerning nutrients,
sediment and toxins from agricultural activities.

West Virginia Department of Agriculture works to accomplish
the many priorities that face agriculture, economic development,
public health and our environment.

American Farmland Trust is the only nationwide nonprofit
organization dedicated to protecting agricultural resources.
Founded by a group of concerned farmers in 1980, AFT's mission
is to stop the loss of productive farmland and to promote
farming practices that lead to a healthy environment.
The
Conservation Technology Information Center is a national,
nonprofit public-private partnership working to promote soil
and water quality and equip agriculture with affordable, integrated
management solutions.

is a partnership between government agencies and private business
that enables you to prevent pollution on farms, ranches, and
in homes using confidential environmental assessments. The
Program can help you determine what risks -- whether from
livestock waste disposal, pesticide management or petroleum
storage -- could threaten your family's health and financial
security.

region. Future Harvest-CASA promotes profitable, environmentally
sound and socially acceptable food and farming systems that
work to sustain communities.
