Never pour oil or chemicals
down storm drains! Did you know that just one quart of used oil
can contaminate up to 250,000 gallons of fresh water? Used oil contains
small quantities of substances that can contaminate air, soil and ground
water. They may contain trace metals, chlorinated solvents, gasoline,
polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons, glycols and PCBs.
Instead of contaminating soil and water and taking up space in a landfill,
used oil materials can be recycled and reprocessed into useful products.
