The Anacostia River Business Coalition (ARBC) is a group of businesses in and around the District of Columbia who are concerned about the Anacostia River. ARBC focuses on education efforts to help businesses and citizens prevent pollution from toxic chemicals. It also undertakes a wide variety of projects to restore and protect the river's shoreline and tributaries, and serves as a clearinghouse to link environmental projects with volunteered business resources. In the five years since its inception, ARBC has organized Anacostia cleanup days, designed and constructed storm water filters, and created and distributed pollution prevention materials to businesses, students, and the general public. Your business can make a difference in the health of the Anacostia Watershed! Just download and fill out the signup form (135 kb pdf file) and return it along with a check for $100.00 in annual dues to the above address. The ARBC is a 501(c)-(3) non-profit organization. Your annual contribution is tax deductible and is used to help fund on-the-ground projects and quarterly newsletters. Upon receiving your dues, someone from ARBC will contact you to give you information about our next meeting. For more information about the ARBC and how you can participate, contact Joan LeLacheur at Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) at 301-618-7522 or jlelacheur@wmata.com, or Steve Saari at ICPRB at 301-984-1908x103 or ssaari@icprb.org. |
