The Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin (ICPRB) is
an interstate compact commission established
by Congress in 1940 to help the Potomac basin states and the federal
government to enhance, protect, and conserve the water and associated
land resources of the Potomac River basin through regional and interstate
cooperation. The ICPRB is represented by appointed commissioners
from Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, the District
of Columbia, and the federal government.
The Commission conducts quarterly business meetings. For Fiscal Year 2007, the meetings are scheduled for December 4-5, March 12-13, June 11-12, and September 10-11. Locations or meetings and agendas for each meeting will be announced closer to the meeting dates. The public is welcome to attend the meetings, however space is limited. The Commission works through a strategic
plan that shapes its activities to support its goals and objectives.
The Commission's annual reports
are available online in pdf format for easy download or you can
request a paper copy by emailing info@icprb.org.
The Commission staff of 24 people includes
professionals from various disciplines, many with advanced degrees.
Two of the staff members work exclusively with the Chesapeake Bay
Program. Staff include environmental engineers, aquatic ecologists,
biologists, and professionals in communications.
The ICPRB offices are located at 51 Monroe St, Suite PE-08,
